The NUJS Mediation Competition is a one of a kind concept providing participants with a wholesome mediation experience. The competition being conducted in association with ADR-ODR International not only enables participants to compete in simulations but also learn the art of real life mediation and conflict resolution through its training program.

The eight day event includes –
Competition: 27th February – 1st March, 2020
ADR-ODR Mediation Accreditation Course: 2nd – 5th March, 2020

The Competition:
The Mediation competition intends to test the skills of the participants in all aspects, giving each member of the team the opportunity to play the role of client, advocate and mediator in the course of the preliminary rounds.
There shall be 3 preliminary rounds, followed by the semi-finals and the finals. Each university can send up to two teams (second team at the discretion of the NUJS ADR Society) consisting of three members each.

Eligibility:

Any student pursuing their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law is eligible to participate in the competition.

Registration:

Participation in the competition is subject to a cap of 30 teams and teams may apply using the registration link provided.

Registration fees per participant is set at Rs. 4,900 /- inclusive of accommodation for 3 days (27th February – 1st March), welcome kits and merchandise. Each team is permitted one coach for their team during the course of the competition. Teams wishing to bring their coach will be charged an additional Rs. 2,100 /- for the coach.

The Course:

The ADR-ODR Mediation Accreditation Course is a rigorous 40 hour training course conducted by Mr. Rahim Shamji. This course grants the participants the certification of a professional mediator, accredited by the UK Civil Mediation Council.

The Course is open to all students pursuing their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, regardless of participation in the tournament. Students may apply for the course specifically by sending a mail to nujsmc20@gmail.com with the subject: “ADR-ODR Course March 2020”.

Open courses by ADR-ODR International costs participants in excess of GBP 2,500, but is being offered to students at a discounted rate via NUJS for the event.

The course is being offered at a special price of INR 25,000 /-. Accommodation for duration of the course will be provided at an extra cost of INR 2,800 /- for four days.
